If you aren’t pregnant yet but are doing your homework in advance, we send our congratulations on being so organized! Thank you for considering Village Obstetrics™. The medical practice you choose is one of the most important decisions that will impact your pregnancy care and experience. We have put together a few items to consider when choosing a doctor or midwife.
Is the chemistry right? We welcome you to come in and see us for a “meet and greet” visit. There is no charge for this visit and it is an opportunity to see for yourself if the personality fit is right for this important journey to parenthood. You may also wish to attend one of the monthly evening pregnancy chit chat sessions we hold.
Experience
We exclusively practice obstetrics only. This focus allows us to concentrate on normal and high-risk pregnancy so expertise for management of complicated pregnancy conditions is right here in your own Village Ob practice. Literally we have delivered thousands of babies in our decades of experience. We have seen just about everything!
Continuity of Care
Unfortunately it is common for doctors even within the same group to have different approaches to labor and delivery care. It can be frustrating at the very least to have plans altered in the middle of labor, your most vulnerable time, just because a new doctor has taken over your care. The approach at Village Obstetrics™ is seamless and uniform. Communication between the doctors is ongoing and comprehensive. You will never have to worry. Our management is intentionally identical always. We talk about every patient at length every day and are both totally involved in all aspects of your care.
Birth Plans
While a safe mother and baby are at the top of our priority list, we too are interested in you and your partner having a satisfying birth experience. That’s why we encourage you to think about developing a birth plan. And of course we always welcome working with doulas.
