comments: I teach Blissborn Childbirth Hypnosis, which is the best of science, medical knowledge, and mind-body therapy. With hypnosis you have more control over your subconscious mind and therefore can control sensations, shorten labor, release fears, deepen the bond with your baby, increase confidence, relax deeply, speed healing, and recalibrate birth expectations. Hypnosis can also help with pregnancy symptoms, turning breech babies, post birth healing, and increase lactation.

comments: We found Kim's class invaluable! It truly gave us peace of mind knowing that we are prepared in case we ever find ourselves in an emergency. Being a mom and a nurse, Kim offers a wonderful and unique perspective and expertise in her teaching style. She was also extremely patient and took a lot of time making sure that we were comfortable with everything we had covered and encouraged lots of questions. I would highly recommend Kim's class to any parents!
Personal Trainer for Pregnancy
Lynn Duffy
Lynnduffy78@yahoo.com
comments: I want to highly recommend my personal trainer Lynn. She has been a huge help to me and since I have started seeing her, my weight gain has been much more controlled (20 lbs in first trimester and 10 lbs in second) and common ailments (such as back pain, etc.) have gone away! She is a wealth of information as well and I cannot say enough good things about the care she takes with her clients. Definitely think it would be worthwhile to meet her in person if you have a chance. She has been a lifesaver for me.

comments: I went to see Deb Valentin because I was a week past my due date and hoping to relieve any stress that might be getting in the way going into labor naturally. I never felt rushed in my appointments and always left feeling positive and calm which I feel is a testament to her own calming demeanor and obvious knowledge and experience.

ferndrillings.com
comments: Not only did it provide a hands-on education in CPR (complete with practice dummies) but it also covered the basics on child-proofing each room in your home, common injuries, choking hazards, drowning, poisoning, crib safety and SIDS prevention. Lots of information with a minimal time commitment, and you get a refresher booklet to take home with you. This class is essential for every parent.
Mauro Acupuncture

comments: I began working with Christiane for pre-pregnancy health and fertility support. She addressed my needs specifically, rather than offering a blanket solution, and always took the time to educate me about the process and the different approaches that we tried. It felt very much like a partnership to help move me towards pregnancy. I am now in my third trimester of pregnancy and I've returned to Christiane for acupuncture support as I get ready for labor. I'm so glad that our work together has come full circle.

Movements for Moms
with Alan Questel - DVD set
pregnantpauses.us
comments: I love this set of DVD's: it is helping me a lot through my pregnancy. I had back pain, and my legs felt heavy, I gave it a try and I was surprised at how much these very simple exercises are helping me. In addition, I can't believe how far I can twist my back!!!
Pregnancy Grief Counseling
ncjwny.org/services_plsp
comments:I found a good support group through the national council of jewish women. It is not a religious group, and it has been extremely helpful to speak with someone who knows what this experience has been. I had some doubts going in, but they were able to set me up with a counselor who's story had some similarities to mine, and it has been a good experience. They also have a pregnancy support group I will be in contact with in the future.
Holistic Health Counseling
lizandstevedooley.com
comments: When I found out I was pregnant, I knew that I needed to start eating better, but I also knew that I was confused about what to eat and how to eat well without feeling like I was on a diet. Liz & Steve supported me in this and so much more, helping me to reduce so much of the stress that I felt at home and at work. My baby is almost here, and I feel as confident, balanced and healthy as I ever have before.

OM yoga

omyoga.com
comments: Om Yoga's prenatal class was terrific. The instructors were all trained in prenatal yoga and so knew lots of modifications when a woman found something awkward or just didn't feel right. They also ask before class what's bothering people and then incorporate specific moves to relieve those aches (i.e. back pain, sciatic nerve). Overall, it was a nice sense of community and an oasis of calm that I looked forward to every week. I highly recommend it!

comments: I started going to Juliette 4 years ago when my son was breach at 37 weeks. Amazingly, after a week of treatment, he flipped and I have relied on her ever since. With this pregnancy I suffered from kidney stones and she made a world of difference helping them pass. Truly incredible. Juliette's personality and approach to care is so thoughtful, calm, friendly and on target. I couldn't recommend her enough!
